Do you know what atrial fibrillation, or AFib, is? It’s an irregular, often very fast heartbeat. Although AFib is generally not life-threatening, it can occur alongside other underlying health concerns. Be sure to visit your healthcare provider if you notice persistent irregularities in your heartbeat, especially with other symptoms like shortness of breath and fatigue. Recovering from a traumatic spinal cord injury is never easy—it’s a journey filled with both challenges and victories. That’s why every milestone deserves to be celebrated.

We are so proud of Ms. Miles, who has been chairbound for three years following a car accident. Despite her injury, she has never let it stop her from being the incredible mother she is.

During her most recent hospitalization at PAM Health Rehab, Ms. Miles reached a remarkable milestone—standing upright for the first time in three years with the help of our tilt table. She was able to feel circulation in her feet again, the tingling in her thighs, and even some relief in her lower back from no longer sitting.

One step forward in recovery is never a small feat, and this moment is worth celebrating. Congratulations, Ms. Miles—we are honored to be part of your journey and look forward to continuing your progress in outpatient therapy. 💙
