Dear Patient,

After more than four and a half decades in medicine and over thirty years devoted to hip and knee reconstruction, Dr. Rodney L. Plaster is announcing his retirement from active clinical practice at Oklahoma Surgical Hospital and Premier Orthopedic Specialists of Tulsa, effective March 31, 2026. His patients will be referred to his son, Dr. Scott Plaster.

This decision comes with a full heart and deep gratitude for the privilege of caring for so many patients and families in Tulsa and across Oklahoma.

Dr. Plaster extends his deepest thanks to the thousands of patients who have entrusted him with their care, often through some of their most vulnerable and challenging moments. It has been an honor to listen to their stories, share in their goals, and walk with them from preoperative anxiety to postoperative recovery and renewed mobility.

He is equally grateful to his physician assistants, nurses, therapists, operating room teams, and administrative staff whose skill and dedication made excellent care possible every day.

With sincere appreciation for a remarkable career made possible by his patients, colleagues, and community, we wish Dr. Rodney Plaster a happy retirement.

We would like to inform you that Dr. Scott Plater will be leaving Premier Orthopedic Specialists of Tulsa effective March 31, 2026, as he pursues a new professional opportunity. We sincerely thank Dr. Scott Plaster for his dedicated service and commitment to patient care during his time with us, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

To ensure your continued care, please complete a medical record release form for those that choose to continue your care with Dr. Scott Plaster or pursue care with another orthopedic professional in the Tulsa area for hip and knee care. These forms can be located on our website or you can complete one at any physicians office of your choice to be faxed to our office.

To ensure your continued care, we are pleased to announce that Dr. James Davies can treat several knee conditions and will be happy to continue any corticosteroid injections, Viscosupplement injections, evaluation for peripheral nerve stimulator for the lower leg due to knee or foot pain, evaluation of new knee pain and all foot and ankle related concerns.
