Realizing this is the last time you’ll be pregnant and hold a newborn carries a deep, quiet grief. Even in the joy, there’s mourning for a chapter that’s ending—for the body you were, the moments you won’t live again, the version of yourself you’re leaving behind. It’s a loss that’s rarely named, felt while your arms are still full.

Whether it stems from religious trauma, s*xual abuse, or a painful s*xual history, these experiences can make it incredibly hard to ask for what you need and can leave you feeling awkward, ashamed, or uncomfortable with your partner. That’s why it’s so important to gently open up to your partner when you can, to seek support through individual or couples therapy, and to explore any irrational or unhealthy beliefs about s*x that may be weighing you down. You deserve safety, understanding, and connection as you heal. *xuallyhealthy

Therapy is being talked about more and more, but with that comes challenges. One of the biggest challenges is that it’s becoming trendy. It can start to feel like a “cool” thing to do rather than a truly transformative process.
Therapy should be a collaborative effort, shaped just as much by what you do outside the therapy room as what happens inside it. It isn’t a cure-all, a quick fix, or a badge of honor — it’s meaningful work that requires commitment and follow-through.
