What better way to spend an afternoon? Our lemonade stand brought back sweet memories of childhood. Residents shared stories of squeezing fresh lemons and selling lemonade for just 10 to 50 cents. The day was filled with smiles, laughter, fellowship, and fun giveaways! 🍋🥤🩷🎉

Frances celebrated her 93rd birthday with us on August 7th! Her family (and her TNC family) were present to celebrate with her. France brings such joy and happiness to all of us who are so blessed to be apart of her life. She always has a smile and a kind word for everyone who visits with her. Congratulations to Billie, RN, MDS, who was drawn as our big WOW winner and is taking home some BEATS earphones. Residents pass out WOW tickets to staff who can then exchange the ticket for a candy treat! Once enough WOW tickets are collected, we have a drawing for a big PRIZE! Kameka has worked her way through the ranks to run the Nutrition Department, and she keeps our residents smiling and their bellies full! God's beauty is so awesome to see!! This morning, we found a newly hatched, from its chrysalis, Monarch Butterfly in our butterfly garden. We also have 6 Swallowtail caterpillars in the garden. (I attached a picture of what the Swallowtails will look like.) Nature at her best! These little miracles put smiles on many of our residents and staff faces. We look forward to seeing the butterfly population grow each year, especially the Monarch. Monarch numbers decline each year due to development and pesticides. Here at Tulsa Nursing Center, we are doing our part to help ensure the number stays high by planting a butterfly garden that we make sure to add Milkweed to for the Monarch. 🦋🦋

Last week to celebrate the 4th of July, our residents enjoyed a red, white and blue snack! We also had a flag trivia question and answer session. We all learned so much. There was lots of discussion on the topics of displaying the flag, what to do if the flag is damaged, what the colors mean and much, much more. ❤️🤍💙
