To serve a wide range of seniors and other clients who need help maintaining a safe, comfortable independent lifestyle at home, we offer a rich menu of senior care services. And depending on a client’s and family’s needs, we can schedule one of our compassionate senior caregivers – Comfort Keepers – to provide from 4 hours of home care a day to full-time, 24-hour in-home care. For those uncertain what degree of help their loved one may need, we can start with in-home electronic monitoring services and then can work with the family to develop an appropriate care plan. Our services include:

· Companionship Care, which includes the comforting presence, companionship and conversation of a Comfort Keeper, who can also provide a number of valuable services around the house, such as light housekeeping and laundry, meal preparation, assistance with dressing and grooming, medication reminders, errands and transportation to medical appointments, the grocery store and other destinations. To enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of their clients, Comfort Keepers encourage seniors to play as active a role in their own caregiving as possible and keep them engaged in a wide range of physical, mental and social activities.

· Personal Care services that can help seniors preserve dignity and quality of life. This includes hands-on help with hygiene, such as bathing or showering, hair and skin care, feeding and mobility assistance, toileting and incontinence care and help with safe transfers in and out of bed, chairs and wheelchair.

· SafetyChoice® Technology Solutions are electronic devices that are monitored 24 hours a day to assure the well-being of seniors between visits by a family caregiver or Comfort Keeper. These devices include a personal emergency response system, which a senior can use to alert help in the event of an accident or illness – with the simple push of a button on a console, pendant or wristband. A medication reminder and management unit helps assure that seniors get the greatest benefit possible from their medicine by preventing missed doses.

· Post-Hospital/Rehab Care and Support is a service through which Comfort Keepers help clients recuperate at home after hospital care, or rehab.

· Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care is provided by Comfort Keepers who have received special training to help families make home a safe, comforting environment for their loved ones who have been diagnosed with dementia.

· Hospice Care Support is provided by Comfort Keepers in partnership with hospice nurses. They provide companionship and personal care services that bring comfort and added quality of life to hospice patients – as well as providing families reassuring support. Comfort Keepers of Northeast Mississippi is honored to provide our exceptional in-home care for veterans who have served our country. We help them with paperwork and procedures to receive the benefits for which they are entitled, such as improved pension benefits and direct in-home care. Comfort Keepers also works in partnership with other senior care and health care providers to connect clients with a full range of services to improve their quality of senior living. What Sets Comfort Keepers Above the Rest

The reason why Comfort Keepers care is more effective than that of other in-home care providers is really pretty simple:

· We hire only the best caregivers as Comfort Keepers. We take great care in recruiting and hiring caregivers who have genuine, heartfelt concern for enriching the lives of seniors and helping them enjoy full, independent lives in their own homes. Few applicants measure up to our primary caregiver standard: to have a natural sensitivity to the needs and concerns of seniors. Secondarily, we look for people with experience in elder care. Yet, no matter the degree of experience caregivers may have, we provide all of our Comfort Keepers training in Comfort Keepers’ unique style of in-home senior care. And for the well-being and safety of our clients and their families, all Comfort Keepers candidates must pass our intensive interviewing and screening process, which includes multiple background checks. In addition to that, our caregivers are insured, bonded and covered by workers’ compensation.

· We offer a distinctive brand, or style, of senior care. We call it Interactive Caregiving™. Through Interactive Caregiving, Comfort Keepers keep their clients active in life, involving them in caregiving tasks and providing them many opportunities to stay active physically, mentally and socially to enhance their level of independence and enjoyment of life. Comfort Keepers enrich clients’ lives with a variety of activities, such as walking, solving puzzles, playing games, helping prepare meals, conversing and reminiscing, visiting friends, and going places, such as church, grocery shopping, concerts and plays – all based on the clients’ interests and abilities.

· We match clients and caregivers. Our Client Care Coordinators are superb in matching clients and caregivers based on personality, interests, care needs and special training in caregiving. Their gift for matchmaking further enhances the effectiveness of Comfort Keepers’ care. A Senior and Respite Care Partnership

We provide senior in-home care as a partnership with our clients and their families. Family members can be as involved in their loved one’s care as they wish and are able. Regardless of a family’s involvement we can keep them fully informed about their loved one’s care and our observations – so even when they can’t be with their loved ones they have the peace of mind that comes from knowing they are in good hands. We provide respite care services for families in the Columbus and Tupelo areas who are actively involved in senior caregiving – to provide them needed, restful breaks from the responsibilities of senior caregiving. Ready to Serve 24/7
The Northeast Mississippi Comfort Keepers offices are staffed around the clock seven days a week, enabling us to provide seniors and their families prompt service whenever they need us. Any time, day or night, call us at 662-241-6191 (or toll-free at 888-675-0595)to learn more about Comfort Keepers, to establish in-home care service or to request a free in-home assessment at which we will identify your loved one’s need for care.

The Journey to Recovery
We can ease your loved one's transition from the hospital or rehabilitation facility to home, which can lead to a better, more comfortable recovery.

The time immediately following release from the hospital is a critical period for recovery. Studies show a lack of proper care and support following surgery or hospitalization can lead to slower recuperation. There's even a possibility of readmission to the hospital due to serious complications. This is why it is so important to have a strong support plan in place before transitioning home.

While family and friends may be eager to help their loved one after a hospital stay, they lack the proper training to meet specific needs. Despite best efforts, they may end up doing more harm than good. Comfort Keepers® caregivers receive expert training to provide care during this important time of recovery. Our services can help make it a smooth, easy transition. The work we do promotes healing, and reduces stress and anxiety during the process.

Understanding Transitioning Care
Our goal is to make the transition from hospital to home as seamless, safe, and as positive as possible. Our caregivers provide the following services: support of the care plan to aid the recovery
assistance with household activities and responsibilities, including meal prep, housekeeping, and running errands
incidental transportation for follow-up appointments, such as office visits and physical therapy
peace of mind for family and friends
communication with the medical team, as needed
Having one of our caregivers take care of your loved one as they transition home provides untold peace of mind. The responsibility of your loved one's recovery doesn't have to be yours to bear alone. With us at your side, you'll be able to run to the store, get other work done, and de-stress. Our care reduces both the physical and emotional challenges facing your family as your loved one gets better. Remember, post-surgical care regimens are often demanding. Allow us to be the support system your family needs.

How Comfort Keepers Can Help
Our caregivers are trained in Alzheimer's disease and dementia care and are also trained to implement Comfort Keepers' unique Interactive Caregiving™ system. With Interactive Caregiving, the Alzheimer's disease and dementia care provider will get to know the senior on a personal level, learning about likes, dislikes and even past events in the senior's life. While developing a relationship with the senior, the caregiver can plan activities that could help the senior simulate mental or physical activities that have been shown to create more lucid thought. The senior and care provider can listen to music together from the senior's favorite era, read an old favorite book or even do memory exercises like looking through family photos or discussing current events.
