Radishes: Healing Food
The root of the radish:
This is the part we think of as the radish itself. Radishes are an immune-system replenisher. The sulfur in radishes helps repel pathogens and acts as a wormicide to help kill off intestinal worms and other parasites.
The organosulfides in radishes help keep arteries and veins clean, creating a protective barrier in blood vessels so plaque doesn’t adhere to their linings.
Radishes are incredible heart food, excellent for helping to prevent heart disease and other cardiovascular issues in part by increasing good cholesterol and lowering bad cholesterol. Radishes are very restorative for the kidney, liver, pancreas, and spleen.
The skin of the radish is a helpful cancer preventative.
Radish greens:
The leaves of the radish are the second most powerful prebiotic there is. Radish greens are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and cancer-fighting alkaloids, plus the greens possess antipathogenic properties.
The greens help the colon and other parts of the intestinal tract that have lost the ability to absorb nutrients. Radish greens’ nutrition absorbs into the most dysfunctional digestive tracts, assimilating better than any other food, thanks to their high enzymatic profile; the greens contain various enzymes that are not yet documented by scientific study and that allow for the uptake of nutrients.
Radish greens help remove pathogens, radiation, pesticides and DDT, toxic heavy metals, and other toxins from the body.
Radish greens help stave off neurological conditions, including MS, ALS, and neurological Lyme. By far, radish greens are the most powerful leafy green for someone’s health.
How To Use:
Enjoy radish roots and greens juiced or in salads. Radish roots make a great crunchy snack. Use radishes and their greens in soups, broth, steamed, or stir-fried.
