Today is a HUGE win for my profession!
CAMTC has been working for decades to get the massage industry taken seriously; despite the knock offs of cheap “parlors” and illegal back door prostitution. Insurance companies would hardly cover massage as a “evidence based medical practice” so therapists were always hesistant to bill.

Massage, while a luxury for some; is part of others’ medical treatment plans to alleviate chronic pain and maintain healthy ROM, circulation, etc. There’s scientific evidence that massage decreases depression and anxiety, increases alertness, and lowers cortisol. But we remained stuck in the ‘CAM’ (Complementary & Alternative Medicine) realm for years - like a neglected redheaded stepchild.

Now we are finally going to be taken seriously by other medical professionals. Hopefully this will be a huge step in what insurance will start covering!

As many of you know, we were informed at the end of July that our landlord would not be extending our lease; which ends 12/31. That being said, I have spent countless hours trying to find the best location with great parking, low street noise, single story, ADA accessible, and a decent sized room — all amenities that my clients have come to expect and deserve. After weeks of searching, I have finally settled on a new location! I will be settled in at the new location as of 10/1! ❤️
