I get asked this question a lot.
How often should you receive Lymphatic Drainage?
The truth is… it depends 🤍
Your body is always communicating. Frequency is unique to you — your lifestyle, stress levels, hormones, age, and overall health all play a role.
Here’s a general guide:
✨ Overall Wellness + Maintenance
~ Every 4–6 weeks ~
Supports healthy immune circulation, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being. Think of this as consistent care to keep your body flowing with ease.
✨ Premenopause + Menopause
~ Every 2–3 weeks ~
Hormonal shifts can increase fluid retention, puffiness, and inflammation. Lymphatic Drainage supports movement, reduces stagnation, and gently nourishes your nervous system during this transition.
✨ Feeling Sluggish, Inflamed, or Puffy
~ Weekly for 4–6 weeks, then reassess ~
Consistency is key in the beginning. Regular sessions help decongest tissues, reduce inflammation, and re-energize your immune system so your body can return to balance.
✨ Post-Operative Care
~ Varies based on procedure + provider recommendations ~
Often the first session is within one week post-procedure (with medical clearance). Traditional Manual Lymphatic Drainage helps move excess fluid, decrease swelling, and support faster, smoother healing.
Note: I highly recommend if you know you are having a procedure done to communicate in advance with your provider regarding Lymphatic Drainage and to look for a trained therapist early on. Reaching out to a therapist prior to your procedure and scheduling your Post-Operative sessions will ensure you are being seen in the time frame you are needing. Sometimes you may even benefit from a lymphatic drainage session preoperatively to start moving stagnant fluid and boost your immune system before going under the knife.
🤍 Bottom Line:
An intentional, customized approach creates lasting results.
Your body deserves care that honors where you are right now.
Know that even incorporating some at home lymphatic drainage work is equally beneficial and can result in extending time between in studio sessions. This is why I created the app and have quick easy to follow tutorials on here. ✨
