When she’s not supporting women in her community, Jill spends her free time crocheting and getting some sun while the kids play outside. Becoming a certified Thompson Method Breastfeeding Educator has provided Jill with the skills to educate women during pregnancy, so that they have the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions, even in unexpected situations. She is also a birth doula and hypnobirthing childbirth educator, compassionately serving the local area of Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas.

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley and I’m a journalism student at the University of Alabama working on a story about maternal healthcare access in Alabama.

I’m hoping to speak with moms who have experienced:

difficulty finding prenatal care

long travel times to appointments or delivery

limited OB options in your county

challenges receiving postpartum care

I’m also hoping to hear from Black mothers, as research shows they often face unique barriers in accessing consistent maternal healthcare in Alabama. Your perspective is incredibly important.

📢 WIC IN ALABAMA WILL CONTINUE

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) is reminding people that the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program will continue to operate as normal during the federal government shutdown.

The ADPH also reminds participants that WIC and SNAP are different programs. SNAP is not managed by ADPH.

What this means right now:
• All WIC services remain available statewide.

To help ensure uninterrupted service, ADPH has temporarily moved to a one-month benefit issuance schedule.

It was a cold long night wasn’t it😜 Yall this mom rocked every part of her labor, she made decisions that in the moment was the right choice for HER. She chose to rest, and relax before meeting her little bundle.

Not every journey will look the same, nor should it because things shift and moves. Like waves, they ebb and flow 😊
