🍂 Family Thanksgiving at Capstone Village 🍁

Last week, we were grateful to welcome the families of our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents for a special Family Thanksgiving Meal. It was a wonderful time filled with laughter, connection, and the warmth that comes from sharing a holiday meal with the people who matter most.

Seeing our residents enjoying the company of their loved ones is always a highlight for our team. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do each day. We are truly thankful for our residents and for the trust their families place in us to care for them.

🎄✨ Celebrating 20 GOLDEN Years on the Tuscaloosa Tinsel Trail! ✨🎄

Our residents and staff had a wonderful time decorating this year’s Capstone Village Christmas tree for the Tuscaloosa Tinsel Trail, sponsored by Tuscaloosa One Place. This project is always a favorite—our residents truly love bringing the tree to life each year!

This year’s theme, “Celebrating 20 GOLDEN Years,” is especially meaningful as we mark our 20th anniversary of serving the Tuscaloosa community. 💛

We also hold a special connection to the Tinsel Trail: one of our residents’ sons serves as the Executive Director of Tuscaloosa One Place. This organization means so much to our community, and we are honored to give back in support of their incredible work.

Join us for the Grand Opening of the Tinsel Trail on Monday, November 24th from 5–7 PM as we light up Tuscaloosa and officially kick off the holiday season!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! 🎅🌟

🍂🧡 It truly takes a village to run a village — and we are so grateful for ours.
Today we gathered for our annual Employee Thanksgiving Lunch, celebrating the incredible team that makes Capstone Village feel like home every day.

🧩 Piece by Piece at Capstone Village 🧩

If you ever wander into our library, there’s a good chance you’ll find a puzzle in progress — and a few familiar faces working together to bring it to life!

We keep one puzzle out at a time, and residents stop by throughout the day to add a few pieces, chat, and enjoy a quiet moment. It’s amazing how something so simple can spark conversation, connection, and a real sense of accomplishment.

(And here’s a fun fact: puzzles aren’t just relaxing — they’re great for keeping the mind sharp, improving memory, and boosting problem-solving skills. 🧠✨)

There’s always room for one more at the puzzle table — even if it’s just to help find that one piece no one else can spot! 😉

🎬 Lights, Crimson, Action! 🎬

Our residents spent a wonderful afternoon touring the UA campus by bus to admire this year’s Homecoming decorations — and the creativity did not disappoint! Each sorority brought the theme “Lights, Crimson, Action” to life with colorful, larger-than-life yard displays that our group absolutely loved. ❤️🐘

From bold movie-themed designs to clever Crimson Tide twists, there was something exciting to see around every corner. The laughter, the reminiscing, and the “oohs” and “ahhs” made it such a special outing!

One of our favorite moments of the day? Watching resident Lois Fuller, a proud Delta Gamma Fraternity alumna, pose with the DG sign — a sweet full-circle moment we couldn't wait to share with you. 💙⚓️

✨ A Magical Afternoon at Capstone Village ✨

We were delighted to welcome the Tuscaloosa Community Dancers for a special mini performance of The Nutcracker! 🎄💃

Our residents were treated to a wonderful afternoon filled with music, movement, and holiday magic. The dancers’ talent and energy brought smiles to everyone’s faces — and the highlight of the day was watching our residents interact with the young performers afterward. ❤️

Thank you to the Tuscaloosa Community Dancers for sharing your time and talent with us — you made this afternoon truly unforgettable!

🎶 A Musical Afternoon at Capstone Village 🎶

Our residents were treated to a beautiful performance by the University of Alabama Flute Choir led by Dr. Diane Schultz in our dining room lobby! 💫

Guests enjoyed the lovely melodies as they dined in the Rast Dining Room or took a seat in the lobby to soak in the full performance. The talented choir — made up of UA students — filled our community with music, laughter, and joy.

Our residents always treasure the opportunity to connect with students, and this visit was no exception. Thank you to The University of Alabama Flute Studio for sharing your time and talent with us — it was truly a delightful afternoon! ❤️🎵

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes at Capstone Village 🇺🇸

Today we proudly celebrated our resident veterans with a heartfelt Veterans Day Program in their honor. 💙

We were inspired by an uplifting speech from Major Jeff West and moved by a beautiful performance of the National Anthem by Raelyn McAteer, a talented senior from Gordo High School. 🎶

Of course, no celebration is complete without a little sweetness — residents and guests enjoyed cake and refreshments as we shared stories and expressed our gratitude for those who have served our country.

To all our veterans: thank you for your courage, your service, and your sacrifice. We are deeply honored to celebrate you today and every day. ❤️🤍💙

This month, our Art Gallery is a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. ❤️

In honor of Veterans Day, we’re proud to feature a special collection of military photos showcasing active and retired service members connected to Capstone Village — including our residents, their family members, and our wonderful staff and their loved ones.

Each photo tells a story of courage, sacrifice, and love of country. We are deeply grateful for their service and proud to celebrate them throughout the month of November.

🍂 A Perfect Fall Day at Tannehill State Park! 🎃

A couple of weeks ago, our Assisted Living residents enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Tannehill State Park! The weather couldn’t have been better — crisp air, colorful leaves, and plenty of sunshine made it the perfect setting for a relaxing picnic.

Everyone had such a great time exploring the park and admiring all the creative Halloween decorations put up by campers. 👻🎃 From spooky displays to festive fall scenes, there was so much to see and enjoy!

There’s nothing like good company, great food, and a beautiful fall day spent outdoors. ❤️
