February often reminds us to celebrate love—but mental health is one of the most important forms of love we can practice.

What to Watch For & What You Can Do
Some medications used for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and mood stabilization can affect your mouth and teeth. These effects are common—and manageable.
👀 Common Mouth Changes to Watch For
Dry Mouth (Xerostomia)
Teeth Grinding or Clenching (Bruxism)
Taste Changes (Dysgeusia)
Too Much Saliva (Sialorrhea)
🪥 Daily Oral Care Tips
Recommended by the American Dental Association:
• Brush teeth twice daily
• Floss once daily
• Drink plenty of water
• Limit sugar and excessive caffeine
• See your dentist regularly

• Jaw pain or teeth grinding
• Taste changes affecting eating

As we step into 2026, let this be the year you:
