The University of Alabama Rural Health Scholars

The University of Alabama Rural Health Scholars The RHSP is a five-week summer program for rising high school seniors from rural counties in Alabama.

The RHSP gives students a chance to experience college life. Scholars live on campus, take college courses for credit, participate in seminars and field trips, shadow physicians at University Medical Center, and receive information about health careers. Requirements for admission:
* Be currently enrolled as a high school junior.
* Have a "B" average or 3.0 GPA.
* Earn at least a 21 on the ACT or 1000 on the SAT( UA requires writing score on ACT/SAT)
* Reside in a rural community.
* Have been an Alabama resident for at least eight years.
