Let's talk about something that sort of blew my mind (but made SENSE) when I started researching it. Ni****ne. It was ingrained in me from a very young age that anything that contained ni****ne was bad, addictive, and frankly gross. Neither of my parents used ni****ne but the majority of my extended family did and I avoided it like the plague.
I was also very blessed to have a lot of my great-grandparents present in my life until I was in my twenties. My great grandfather had been smoking since he was probably 10 years old and lived to be 93. And of course, I wondered how in the world you could live that long smoking that much?
Then came Covid and I was introduced to Dr. Bryan Ardis and his wealth of information on what we could use to help people during the pandemic and keep them out of the hospitals. he also provided some interesting information that showed that smokers were actually not getting Covid at the rates we initially expected.
He did a deep dive into ni****ne and I was intrigued. (I can't share every video and article here, but please do your own research with this)
Now, please understand that everything in nature has risks and benefits and we much weigh these with our current issues to determine if the benefits outweigh the risks. Here's what I discovered ni****ne could help with:
-Anti-inflammatory ā benefits for ulcerative colitis, arthritis, sepsis, endotoxemia, and any inflammatory condition.
-Possibly reduces episodes of violent behavior and aggression in people with autism.
-Improves sleep
-Reduces type 1 diabetes and helps with insulin while having a protective effect on pancreatic cells
-Can help long-covid sufferers in as little as one week
-Improves memory and cognition, with benefits for those with Alzheimerās and Parkinsonās disease
-Can alleviate Lyme neurological symptoms
-May help with brain fog and cognitive issues in those that are hypothyroid
In looking at studies and the chemical nature of Ni****ne, it has been shown to be non-addictive, even though we've been taught otherwise! It is not a carcinogen. It is a nutrient found in lots of plants and vegetables we consume regularly!
Big To***co has created ci******es, ci**rs, and vapes that contain a host of other chemicals that are damaging, addicting, and carcinogenic. But just ni****ne (in a patch form) can be very beneficial to your health.
There is a ton of information online on how to use patches and everyone does things a little differently based on what they are treating. I'll share what I do: I use a 7 mg ni****ne patch, either the Habitrol or Tolevita brand, not because one is better than the other but because I have a sensitivity to adhesives and these are the ones I can tolerate on my skin. Due to the fact that my Lyme disease affects my nervous system and my joints, I place my patch either between my shoulder blades on my back or in an area I may be experiencing inflammation. I wear mine for 2 days then change it out (mainly because I sometimes forget about it for a day haha!)
I have watched and listened to many many people who are benefiting from these so I wanted to share with you- not to pressure you but to spur you to research, to explore, and to experiment.
My opinion is that we have been lied to about ni****ne and that it certainly can have a place (all by itself) in integrative therapies.
