Keller Landing’s Employee for the month of July is……..

Ms. Jessica Davis!

Jessica Davis joined our Keller Landing team as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2007. Since joining our team, she says that the family environment here at Keller Landing has made her enjoy coming to work everyday to see all of the smiling faces of our sweet residents. She was nominated as our Employee of the Month for November 2024 and won the honor that month. Jessica continues being a great employee and she is an asset to our staff. She is a great employee and holds many jobs here at the facility. Jessica is a CNA, our Scheduling Coordinator, our Central Supply Clerk and she transports our residents to and from appointments. When asked what her reasoning for wanting to be in the long term care facility profession she responded, “I love taking care of people and seeing people smile.”

When Jessica is not at work, she enjoys fishing, bowling, shooting pool, riding four wheelers and spending time with her children. Jessica is a busy mom of four but she loves being busy and wouldn’t change her life for anything. She is very involved with her kid’s sports teams and cheerleading squads and she loves supporting her children in all that they choose to do. When asked what her goals for the future are she stated, “to keep being the best that she can be and providing the best care that she can for our residents.”

Thank you Jessica for all the hard work that you do to help Keller Landing be its absolute best for those we serve.

Keller Landing’s Employee for the month of June is……..

Mr. John Carter!

John Carter joined our Keller Landing team as a Registered Nurse doing our MDS reimbursements in 2014. Since coming to work for our facility, John has shown that he is good at what he does and he helps the facility recover funds for our patients by doing full body assessments which help pay for our resident’s stay and their therapies.

John graduated from Deshler High School in 1999 and attended the University of North Alabama where he played college football. John transferred to Northwest Shoals Community College where he graduated with his registered nursing degree in 2011. He has worked in healthcare for the last fourteen years and has worked in a hospital setting doing MedSurge and Oncology and the long term care facility setting, first as a CNA then a wound care nurse and now at the MDS coordinator. John's reason for wanting to be in the profession of nursing is his entire life he grew up in a family full of nurses and he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his family members. He said nursing is a great profession that will never go out of style, and there will always be a need for great nurses. John loves working in MDS because he says he looks at each resident’s case as if it were a puzzle. You have to put all the pieces of the patient’s medical history together like a puzzle so that the patient receives all of the benefits that we can offer them during their stay with us here at Keller Landing. One of John’s fondest memories from his nursing career is when he was a floor nurse and helped a family dealing with the death of their loved one. He said he really got to spend quality time with the patient before his death and got to speak with the patient about his religion and his Christianity. John knew without a doubt that his patient was a Christian and that he knew where he was going when he passed away. He said that the patient said he knew he would miss his loved ones but that he would see them again one day in Heaven. John cared for the patient and his family members and says that the patient will forever hold a special place in his heart.

When John is not working, he loves spending time with his wife, Holley, and their son, Nate, going to church, fishing, playing and watching sports, going to movies, taking scenic drives, going on vacations and playing golf. John’s hobbies are playing the drums, going to Alabama football games and trying new recipes for barbecuing for his TikTok and Instagram channel Salt Pepper and Fire. John’s goals for the future are to pursue his education by going back to school to receive his CRNP and continue working at Keller Landing as long as we’ll have him.

Thank you John for all the hard work that you do to help Keller Landing be the best that it can be!
