Gut Microbiota and Your Health (5)
Commonly seen probiotics include Lactobacilli, Bifidobacteria, Lactococci, Streptococci and yeast. Food like yogurt, cheese, kimchi or miso also contains a small amount of probiotics. To maintain the effect on the GI system, most studies recommended taking probiotics daily. Probiotics needs fiber and oligosaccharides (multi-branched, long-chained sugars) for growth and B vitamins are also important to help the good bacteria grow better and thrive in our bodies.

Gut Microbiota and Your Health (4)
Higher levels of these beneficial organisms can reduce the activities of more problematic pathogens—either present in the gut or transmitted in food and/or water. Since the gut is an extremely competitive environment with millions of bacteria residing there already, the more the better as far as probiotics are concerned.

Gut Microbiota and Your Health (3)
Research has shown that probiotics plays a huge role in health maintenance, particularly gut health. It also helps to prevent or reduce illness, such as vaginal yeast infections, diarrhea, lactose intolerance, systemic infection, allergies, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Gut Microbiota and Your Health (2)
From infancy, daily diet plays an important role in the development of an appropriate and healthy bacterial environment. The higher concentration of probiotics found in breast-fed babies gives them an advantage over formula-fed babies by making their immune system more capable of fighting infection. Drugs such as antibiotics unfortunately can upset the balance of good and bad bacteria in our bodies.

Gut Microbiota and Your Health (1)
Recent human gut microbiota research suggests that agitation of microbial communities may increase our predisposition to different disease conditions. Dietary nutrients may be converted into metabolites by intestinal microbes serving as biologically active molecules affecting regulatory functions in our bodies. Probiotics may restore the gut microbiome composition and introduce beneficial functions to gut microbial communities, resulting in the prevention of gut inflammation and other intestinal or systemic diseases.

Dementia-Identification and Treatment (4)
Function of Lecithin
I. Cell Membrane Structure Protection
The main component in lecithin is phospholipid, a major building block for all cell membranes.
II. Nervous System Protection
Another major component in lecithin, Choline, is an important precursor for neurotransmitter.
III. Liver Protection
Clinical research showed that phosphatidylcholine from lecithin has protective effect to liver.
IV. Lower Blood Lipid/Cholesterol
Phospholipid in lecithin, has both hydrophilic (attracted to water) and hydrophobic (repels water) characteristics, which helps fluid (and electrolyte) transport across the cell membrane, and aids in fat metabolism.

Dementia-Identification and Treatment (3)
There are many causes of dementia;and dementia does not only occur in the elderly. Damage and degeneration of the brain are the most difficult cases to cure. On the other hand, dementia caused by medication, emotion, metabolism, hormone imbalance, hardening of the arteries, hydrocephalus or malnutrition can be reversible in all age groups. Alzheimer’s disease is the major cause of dementia (approximately 60%), and is mostly seen in those over 65 years of age. Maintenance of elderly nutrient intake can greatly reduce the risk of dementia in the future.

Dementia-Identification and Treatment (2)
While symptoms of dementia can vary greatly, at least two of the following core mental functions must be significantly impaired to be considered dementia:

• Memory
• Communication and language
• Ability to focus and pay attention
• Reasoning and judgment
• Visual perception

Dementia-Identification and Treatment (1)
Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life. Dementia is not a disease, but a combination of symptoms, not just memory loss but also a decrease in other cognitive functions.

Better Circulation, Better Health (4)
Ginkgo was used for thousands of years in China to treat chest pain, heart burn, improve heart and brain circulation, lower cholesterol, and improve blood pressure. Ginkgo extract can help patients with cold hands and feet. Bad circulation often occurs in females; and presents as erectile dysfunction in males. Ginkgo flavone glycosides and ginkgolides can dilate blood vessels, improve their permeability, increase venous circulation, and prevent thrombosis; as well as clear free radicals with its anti-oxidation ability, and strengthen blood vessel walls and improve their elasticity.

Better Circulation, Better Health (3)
For example: patients with diabetes often experience erectile dysfunction, diabetic retinopathy, and for some even amputation. Besides controlling blood sugar, promoting good blood circulation is the KEY to maintaining a healthy body.

Better Circulation, Better Health (2)
End capillary circulation blockage, can result in chronic disease, such as: poor inner ear circulation leading to tinnitus or sudden deafness. Diminished eye circulation causes blurry or degraded vision. Limited brain circulation can increase the chance and risk of dementia or stroke. In addition, people with diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, and smokers are all at high risk of having impeded blood circulation. These candidates should all watch out for the development of any complications.

Better Circulation, Better Health (1)
When the terms heart condition and brain (or cerebral) blood vessels are mentioned in conversation we naturally tend to think about our blood circulation, however, every organ in our body needs good blood circulation. Since 90% of the blood is located in the capillaries, any circulation blockage both centrally and locally prevents proper oxygenation. And with that comes serious health issues.

What is Psoriasis? (5)
Other study also found supplementation with the combination of antioxidants including selenium, coenzyme Q10, and vitamin E showed statistically significant clinical improvement of psoriasis such as plaque hyperemia, plaque inflammation, nail dystrophy, and joint pain. Vitamin B complex and vitamin D also can improve skin’s defense ability and help skin cell to repair, relieve the symptoms of psoriasis.
