Here’s the truth:
Sometimes our nervous systems have been in survival mode for so long that rest feels unfamiliar—even threatening. Especially if you grew up in a chaotic or high-pressure environment. But remember!
🛑 You don’t have to earn your rest.
🛏️ Rest is not laziness.
🕊️ Peace is not dangerous.

Ever feel like you can’t relax? Like you’re always chasing the next deadline, staying busy, or thriving on chaos? There’s a chance you are addicted to stress. Yes you read that right.

⚠️So why does this happen?
✔️ Your brain gets hooked on the rush of adrenaline & cortisol
✔️ Downtime feels uncomfortable or “unproductive”
✔️ You’ve learned to equate stress with success or self-worth
✔️ Past trauma or upbringing conditioned you to be in constant survival mode

⚠️Breaking the Cycle
✅ Start small: Schedule intentional rest
✅ Challenge the belief that busyness = worthiness
✅ Practice nervous system regulation (see our post before this for ideas)
✅ Seek therapy to process underlying patterns

🔆REMEMBER: Stress or busyness is not a badge of honor. Peace is productive, too.
