Are you looking forward to feasting at Thanksgiving dinner, but not looking forward to uncomfortable bloating and digestive distress that may follow?

I’ve got you covered!

See what’s in your supplement line-up to support digestion (I know a lot of you have your own stash😉).

Anything is probably better than nothing!

I’m taking a digestive enzyme that especially supports the breakdown of gluten and dairy foods. The one I have on hand is Similase GFCF. Use what you have.

I take my most trusted probiotic MegaSpore Biotic. Use what works for you.

I love immunoglobulins to mop up toxins and protect the gut from unwanted invaders. I use Mega IgG2000. You might have a different brand.

We want our digestive juices flowing and our food moving through the digestive tract at a proper pace. I find DigestForte to be exceptionally good. But any herbs or bitters that offer digestive support can help.

Happy Thanksgiving, tribe! Eat some vegetables tomorrow, have fun, and enjoy your day to the fullest 😊

First, fix the foundation.

Eat right, stay hydrated, move your body🥝🍎🥕💦🏃🏻‍♀️

When you master the basics and you still can go 💩, there can be several areas to consider next.

Testing the microbiome is a great place to start.

It’s easy to test, it can often explain what’s not working and why, and the best news is that it can help us create a roadmap back to better digestion and elimination through food and supplements.

But it’s just 10 almonds.

It was only a handful of grapes.

A bite of cheese, a green juice, celery sticks for crying out loud 😩

Why am I so bloated?

Because your small intestine moves food down and out when you’re in a fasting state.

If you’re grazing and snacking all day, you’re not fasting.

Try spacing food intake 3-4 hours apart and see how you feel 😃

For the past 25 years, I have had the honor and privilege of guiding and supporting my patients toward better health👩🏻‍⚕️

As I was checking my son into his first year of college, this quote caught my eye. It really resonated💫

I’m grateful to have been able to make a difference in so many patients lives🙌🏼

Avoid getting backed up by incorporating these gut-loving foods into your regular routine🥝🫚

You can also add leafy greens🥬, prunes or yogurt.

Make sure you’re well hydrated and getting enough movement 💧🏃🏻‍♀️

I’d be honored to help you crack the code if you need more help in this area.

Life happens. Stress happens. And you’d be surprised at how much it’s affecting your gut.

When you’re stressed, your nervous system becomes focused on shutting down digestion so you can free up that energy to deal with the immediate stressors.

You become bloated, your bowel movements become dysregulated, you may even have reflux.

Now imagine being in that state all the time. . .

To overcome this, it’s so important to intentionally relax where you literally detach, unwind, and unplug.

Take 15 minutes out of each day to close your eyes and only think about things you love.

This brings the nervous system out of fight-or-flight, into rest-and-digest mode.

And if you need supplement support, I’ve got you covered! Supporting the physiology and biochemistry to promote relaxation can be a game changer in how your gut works and feels.

I created a protocol with my most trusted natural products to promote relaxation at the biochemical level. You can find them in the link in my bio under SUPPLEMENTS AND PROTOCOLS.

The calls, emails and messages have begun rolling in. . .

“Dr Lisa, I’m sick, what should I take?”

Before I answer that question, I’m just going to gently remind you that supplements work best when taken at the 1st sign of illness🤧🦠🤒
. .not after you wait a couple of days and then figure you need to take something
. .not when you have to go online, order, and wait a few days for them to be delivered

Supplements work BEST when taken as soon as you feel the achy body, sore throat, or sniffle.

So, if you’re like me, you order ahead of time and have everything you need on hand, just in case.

Even if you manage to stay healthy, someone around you may not be as fortunate, and if you already have supplies you’ll be able to help them.

It’s better to have them and not need them than need them and not have them.

So what did my son and I take the 4 times we had it? What have countless patients taken?

I made it really easy for you and added my protocol to the link in my bio🔗

Gas and bloating are the most common issues my patients report 💨

Have you ever wondered what’s behind it?

Our digestive tract is home to trillions of bacteria, many of which play essential roles in keeping us healthy.

However, some of these bacteria are notorious gas producers😵‍💫

When certain bacteria break down the food we eat—especially fiber, sugars, and certain starches—they produce gases like hydrogen, methane, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon dioxide as byproducts.

This can lead to bloating, discomfort, abdominal distention, and that all-too-familiar gassy feeling.

By understanding which bacteria are the culprits, and which may be overgrown in your gut, we can start to make informed dietary and lifestyle changes to support a more balanced microbiome and minimize this discomfort.

Curious to know more about how to manage your gut health naturally?

I like to start with a gut microbiome test that gives us this information so we know what we’re dealing with, and then helps us create a roadmap back to a better feeling gut.

It’s a great way to fast-track your gut health success!

Think you’ve tried it all and yet you’re still suffering with gut issues?

I have a wealth of knowledge and a ton of tricks on my toolbox.

Many people come in having already tried the basics. . .probiotics, enzymes, herbal antimicrobials, etc.

And they’re frustrated, scared, and confused because nothing has worked.

I get it!

But please don’t give up! There is SO much more that can be done.

You just need to know what supplements to use and when to use them.

Gut health returns in phases and you can’t do all of the phases at once.

A strategic approach with well thought out plan can make all the difference.

Bloating is the #1 symptom I hear about from my patients.

But let’s discuss the difference between bloating and abdominal distention.

Bloating is a sensation of fullness in the belly ranging from discomfort to outright pain😩

Abdominal distention is visible expansion of the abdomen. This can be minor like your pants don’t fit quite right. But it can also be so pronounced that you look pregnant when you’re not🤰

You can have one or the other, but you can certainly have both at the same time.

When speaking to your healthcare practitioner, be sure to differentiate whether you’re experiencing bloating, distention, or both.

And if you need help unraveling your bloating and distention, I offer a complimentary 15 minute appointment to get you started.

If you think staying on herbal antimicrobials like oil of oregano, berberine and garlic until your bloating and bowel issues resolve is a good idea, we need to talk👩🏻‍⚕️

Likewise, if you think eliminating every food that ails you is going to somehow fix anything, you’ll probably end up with a list of 5-10 safe foods while never even getting rid for your gut symptoms 😵‍💫

Or perhaps you’ve purchased every gut health supplement you’ve seen claiming to give you great BM’s and completely eliminate your bloating. But here you are, years later, still trying to figure out what to take🥺

These strategies 1) won’t work, 2) could prolong your recovery, 3) leave you exhausted, hopeless and frustrated🤯

I use a targeted and strategic appraoch to helping health-conscious individuals overcome their gut issues.

And I’d love to help you too!
