A tribute from IRI

Today we would like to honor Alice Wong a visionary, a storyteller, a fierce advocate, and a joy-maker whose impact continues to ripple through communities everywhere. Aliceโ€™s life has been a testament to what it means to live boldly, to challenge systems with courage, and to build a world where every voice, body, and mind is honored.

Through her writing, activism, and leadership, Alice brought visibility to stories that too often went unheard. She taught us that accessibility is love, that disability culture is powerful, and that community care can transform the way we live and imagine the future. She reminded us that advocacy can be creative, that resistance can be joyful, and that change starts with listening deeply to one another.

At IRI, we are profoundly grateful for everything Alice stood for equity, imagination, interdependence, and the undeniable brilliance of disabled communities. Her work continues to inspire our mission and our hearts.

Our Story

IRI Mentorworks provides services to adults with disabilities to find employment in their community. We believe "Everybody Works".

For years, people with disabilities have been disenfranchised and told what they canโ€™t do. Here at IRI, we focus on what people can do; celebrating them for their gifts, talents and differences. IRI doesnโ€™t only support individuals with disabilities to find employment, but we also support and educate the larger community, specifically employers, on the advantages of hiring a person with a disability. As a grassroots non-profit organization, IRI has facilitated over 20,000 community job placements for persons with disabilities in the US and Australia. Based on these successful Integrated Work outcomes, IRI has been awarded several local, state, federal and international grants.

IRI also provides Supported and Independent Living services, Educational and Transition Consultation.
