Did you know cats tend to hide their pain? That makes it easy for dental diseases to be overlooked. If your cat is eating fine, there still may be an issue at hand! ๐
Tooth resorption occurs when the dentin (tissue under the enamel) erodes and overtime the tooth and root become affected. Tooth Resorption in cats may not be visible until an x-ray is done, where we can see an infection lying underneath the surface and the tooth must be removed. This is a painful and unfortunately common condition that can go unchecked in early stages.
When the condition worsens symptoms may include bad breath, drooling, pawing at mouth, difficulty eating and weight loss, or bleeding from the mouth!
