Ode to the placenta,

An organ easily disposed of but of utmost importance. You are only formed when needed to be the gateway of nutrients between a mother and her growing baby. You filter oxygenated blood from the mother to the baby keeping both the mother and babies blood separated. You help the fetus expel CO2 which if build up could be deadly. You protect against foreign substances in the mothers body and environment. Only used for a few months but you job of growing and sustaining life in the belly of a mother is not forgotten.

Diet does matter.

Also if you have any conditions with your pregnancy or go longer the difference can be evident in your placenta.
