Did you get the opportunity to see the Northern Lights this week?! Have you ever wondered why photos of the Northern Lights look so bright and colorful, but they can seem faint or grayish in person? 👀📸 That's because your eyes and your camera work very differently:
* Your eyes are great at seeing motion and detail in low light, but NOT color. At night, your "night vision" cells (rods) kick in, and they're not sensitive to color (like your cones).
*Your camera, on the other hand, can take in light over a longer period of time (thanks for long exposure), capturing all those vivid greens, purples, and reds that our eyes can't process in real time.

So if the sky looks dull to you but your phone is glowing with color, don't worry! The magic is still there...your camera just happens to be better at showing it off! 💜
