I have a new student scheduled for a class next week and she wants to try her hand at a beach scene so I thought it prudent to try one myself. Hope it is something close to what she has in mind. I will probably post the results of her lesson. Enjoy!

I want to publicly thank each of you who have expressed concern over my recent trip to the hospital. Happy to be able to tell you that things have improved. I have had a phone call or wo asking if this was related to my ankle surgery and the answer to that is no, it is not. Sadly, I have had a small stroke that was discovered after I called 911 for assistance with a balance issue. There are still some concerns as it turns out I have a couple of blood clots on the left side of the brain (surprise, they found a brain!!!) and even two in the lungs. After a long stay at Serenity, I am more than happy to be back in my own environs. And a special thanks to my son, Steve who has taken charge and is doing his very best to keep me on the straight and narrow. (NOT A SMALL UNDERTAKING) I love that boy more than I can express in words.

Our family hs expeienced way too many early partings. Below on the right is my lovely wife, Wanda who was my companion for not enough years, I do hope that she was able to greet my sister-in-law into heaven the other day.I know she is accustomed to showing kin around as she was there for the passing of her sisters (Andrea Kern). My brother-in-law, Paul Campbell was surveyor here on earth so by now I am certain that he has a good lay of the land and can be an excellent guide. All of these people left us soon.

It was 61 years ago this day that the best thing of my life (then and now) happened. After agreeing to marry me, she actually went through with it. Losing her has been so hard to deal with. I miss you Wanda Lynn

I love it when students show quick improvement in their technique.
Today Matt Hicks completed his third class and I think the results are outstanding. Well done Matt!!!!!

It has been a spell since I last want to the studio to paint for myself. I changed that a couple of days back.
This was the result. It is on a 16 x 20 canvas and when dry will be for sale.

Last week, in class, I had Matt Hicks divide his canvas into four sections and we painted similar scenes in each section. He is doing really well and I am so proud to call me my student.
