Our Story

Our program is a branch of the main Family Medicine Residency of Idaho - designed especially for broad-spectrum rural family medicine training.

Our rural training program is established in the Twin Falls/Jerome area of southern Idaho, also known as the “Magic Valley.” We boast strong support from the medical community, which provides extremely broad, rural training.

Previously, residents spent their intern year in Boise with the Boise core residents. As of 2019, the intern class will start in Magic Valley and complete three years of training in a rural setting. Two months of intern year will still be spent in Boise for inpatient Pediatrics in order to broaden the educational experience.
