Our individuals had an amazing time visiting the Cleveland Museum of Art! From exploring beautiful exhibits to experiencing creativity up close, it was a day filled with inspiration, learning, and fun.

Community outings like these create opportunities for connection, discovery, and memorable experiences. We love seeing the smiles and excitement as we explore our city together!

🏅🖤Black History Month Spotlight: Strength, Excellence and Inspiration! 🖤🏅

During Black History Month, Community Bound Agency is proud to celebrate Elana Meyers Taylor, Olympic gold medalist, elite monobob sledder, devoted mother, and powerful advocate.

As an African American woman excelling in winter sports, Elana continues to break barriers and make history. Beyond her athletic achievements, she is the proud mother of two incredible sons with special needs. Both of her sons are deaf, and one also has Down syndrome.

Her journey reflects perseverance, resilience, advocacy, and unconditional love. She balances elite competition with motherhood in a way that inspires families across the nation, especially within the special needs community.

This Black History Month, we honor leaders like Elana Meyers Taylor who show us what strength, representation, and determination truly look like. 💪🏾❄️

✨🖤❤️💚 Celebrating Black History Month at Community Bound Agency! 💚❤️🖤✨

At Community Bound Agency, our individuals celebrated Black History Month in a powerful and meaningful way—by decorating mirrors with the traditional Black History colors: red, black, and green.

This activity wasn’t just about creativity—it was about reflection. As they designed their mirrors, we engaged in important conversations about self-awareness, self-esteem, identity, and the importance of recognizing our value and contributions.

Looking into the mirror reminds us that Black history is not only about the past—it lives within each of us today. We encouraged our individuals to see strength, resilience, beauty, and purpose when they look at themselves.

We are proud to create spaces where culture is celebrated, voices are heard, and confidence is built. ❤️

Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Community Bound Agency! 💕

We wrapped up the week with a fun and heartwarming Valentine’s Day project, where creativity, friendship, and kindness were on full display. From sharing sweet treats to exchanging thoughtful gestures, it was a beautiful reminder of the power of connection in our community.

Founded and operated by Marcella Singleton, Community Bound Agency was built on a commitment to empower individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, ensuring access to dignity, opportunity, and meaningful community inclusion. Her leadership reflects a deep belief that every individual deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

Through her dedication, Marcella is not only creating pathways for growth and independence but also building Black excellence and leaving a legacy rooted in advocacy, compassion, and service. Her work strengthens families, uplifts communities, and expands what inclusion truly looks like.

We honor her leadership today and every day as we continue the work of empowerment, access, and community impact.

Our individuals enjoyed a visit to Malley’s Chocolate Shop as part of community integration, where they practiced counting money, selecting items, and communication skills while making their own choices. Experiences like this support independence while creating sweet memories! 💛

🖤 Black History Month | Honoring Black Disability Rights Advocates 🖤

This Black History Month, Community Bound Agency honors Black leaders whose advocacy directly advanced rights, access, and inclusion for people with developmental delays and disabilities.

We recognize trailblazers such as:

• Brad Lomax – A Black disability rights activist who played a pivotal role in the 504 Sit In, one of the most significant actions in disability rights history. Lomax helped bridge the civil rights and disability rights movements, ensuring disability justice was part of the broader fight for equality.

• Vilissa Thompson – A modern disability rights advocate and founder of Ramp Your Voice, who has elevated the voices of Black disabled individuals and pushed for policy change, representation, and visibility within disability spaces.

• Corbett O’Toole (ally with strong intersectional impact) often collaborated with Black disability advocates and helped amplify voices of people with disabilities of color in national movements.

• Judy Heumann worked closely alongside Black disability advocates like Brad Lomax to secure protections that directly impacted access to education, employment, and community living for people with disabilities.

Because of leaders like these, individuals with developmental delays have greater access to education, community based services, and the right to live with dignity and independence.

At Community Bound Agency, we are proud to continue this legacy by empowering individuals of all abilities to thrive, belong, and be valued in their communities.

At Community Bound Agency, we are proud of our individuals who volunteered their time at the food pantry, showing compassion, teamwork, and a commitment to serving others.

Volunteering provides meaningful opportunities to build skills, confidence, and connection while making a positive impact in the community. Our individuals did an amazing job supporting families and helping ensure neighbors had access to essential resources.

Our individuals had a great time celebrating National Puzzle Day by putting their problem solving skills to work. From independent challenges to teamwork moments, the room was full of focus, laughter, and connection.

One of the highlights was watching everyone come together to complete the Community Bound Agency branded puzzle, showing that when we work as a team, every piece truly fits.

Moments like these remind us that growth happens through collaboration, patience, and community.
