Sometimes what looks like asystole or PEA on the monitor is actually VF hiding underneath. Echo or POCUS can catch it when the ECG won’t.
If the heart looks like it’s fibrillating but the strip says “nonshockable,” do you shock or not? Because every missed shock might be a missed shot at survival.
