No more headaches or vomiting 🫶🏻. We’re still working on some right side tightness but I’m so proud of my airway team and this young man’s commitment to growth. Now, it’s time for some more palatal space.

Often, a patient gets palatal expansion to work on the width of the airway. However, when the tongue can rest correctly and swallow with a greater range of motion, it drives the lower jaw downward and forward, allowing for optimal depth of the airway. An improved facial profile is the bonus.

A three year old can benefit from restoring correct oral motor function. Retractors were not used in the first picture because she was scared. This was three sessions of therapy over a three month period. Slow and steady, and lots of fun and trust. I’m so excited for her continued growth! 😁
