When Essentia ICU RN Kristi Hautamaki was diagnosed with adult acute myeloid leukemia in June 2024, her colleagues came together to try and find a bone marrow donor.

Essentia-St. Mary’s Medical Center became the site of a drive that saw 147 teammates and neighbors join the national registry for bone marrow donation. One year later, Kristi is cancer-free — and our goal of spreading hope continues!

The Minnesota Department of Health has re-designated Essentia Health-Fosston as a Level IV Trauma Hospital.
