Whether you are a family caregiver or a professional, caring for someone who is living with a dementia-related illness is one of the hardest things you can do.
Many caregivers feel they should know how to respond or what to do to best care for their loved one. But dementia care is not intuitive! No one is born knowing how to care for someone living with dementia.
That's where our conference comes in. We are offering 6 hours of Continuing Education Credits on the topics that we have been most asked about by professionals and families over the last two years.
Here is everything you could want to know about our upcoming Dementia Care Conference!
What CEs are being offered:
We are offering 6 CEs for physicians, nurses, social workers, psychologists and LPCs, and activity professionals.
Who are the speakers?
For every conference, we tailor the content to what previous attendees have told us they want to hear next, as well as feedback from monthly caregiver workshops. Here are the speakers and topics this year:
Dr. Allison Hennigan, Neurologist, will speak on “The Science Behind Preventing--and slowing--Dementia.”
A panel of people living with dementia and their caregivers will discuss their journeys and how they are "Living in the Moment."
Katie Maxwell, Certified Child Life Specialist, will share "Tips for Explaining Dementia to Kids”
Hollie Glover-Lowe, Dementia Care Specialist at the James L. West Center for Dementia Care in Fort Worth, will discuss “Managing caregiver stress and family dynamics.”
Toni Johnson, Behavioral Health Screener for Oceans Healthcare, will discuss “Dementia vs Behavioral Health: When and How to Take Action.”
