Below, I have posted Psalm 46. God is more powerful than the brokenness of this world that has been so brashly plastered on news outlets this week( and most weeks).

C.S Lewis is known for saying that "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world".

The tragic events in the news lately are not something to spin for "toxic positivity"by saying "well, God let it happen so let's rejoice"; But they are also not something to let change your knowledge and heart about God and His character. He uses the brokenness of this world for His good plan. We are to "rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep."( Romans 12:15) and this follows only a few verses after Romans 12:1-2, which speaks clearly about God's testing, so "you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Sorrow and broken people don't negate God's goodness. Death is not going to change His plans and He does not change like we often do in the midst of tragedy.

In that we may rejoice.

"Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." Proverbs 19:21

Does anyone elses brain try to plan your entire day for you and your kids down to what you're gonna have for snack? But then everyday chaos (usually rooted in sinful desire of toddlers or me), chucks your plan into the fire and pours some gasoline on it? In my few moments of quiet today, as I resist scrolling, binge watching or burying my concern in completing tasks, I turned to the prayer section of my bible app and the verse above was on there...In a world where there is an " easy fix" to most problems, opening the Bible to calm my heart, nerves and brain isn't usually in the top of my list but it should be...

He sees you, he has a plan for you and he knows what you need.

Parenting is God work

Parenting is God work

The narrative that motherhood takes more than it could ever give us is strong in certain circles—especially on social media.

As Christian moms, we know this is not true, but sometimes we need an “atta girl” to keep going toward the Truth!

I wrote You Bet Your Stretch Marks for every weary mom who’s wondering if all her effort is worth it and feels like she’s beating her head against the same hard wall of parenting struggles every day.

I also wrote it for the mom who sees worth in her effort but might feel alone in her convictions or just needs a boost of encouragement or a few more practical strategies in her mothering toolbox to thrive rather than merely survive.

It’s ALL in this book that brings the whole M Is for Mama trilogy full circle and which I wrote with so much passion for cheering on a generation of moms who want to leave a legacy of faithfulness to their own children, regardless of what they received from their own parents.

"Rough"(of a person or their behavior) not gentle; violent or boisterous.

adverb: informal
in a manner that lacks gentleness; harshly or violently.

Synonyms: Unrestrained, Ungracious, Undisciplined

Parent's out there, does this describe your morning? Does it describe your children's behavior or YOUR behavior?

For us, it was both. Interruptions, unkindness between siblings, not sharing, waking up sleeping siblings, making messes, lying, deliberate pestering...to name a few! My patience was not upt to participate because I was relying on MY OWN capacity rather than giving it to the Lord.

The Bible tells us not to exasperate/provoke our children (Ephesians 6:4), not to let our anger, harsh words or annoyance be lashed out into our spouses and children (Ecclesiastes 5:2) so that they will not lose heart ( Colosaians 3:21).

We all sinned in our response to unmet expectations or desires...so what did I do to change the temperature of the house and course for the day? PRAYED.
●For my heart to lean on the Holy Spirits wisdom
●For true repentence and then forgiveness on one another's actions
●For understanding of scripture as a guide for behavior ( honoring God, love others genuinely, love your neighbor as yourself, take care of the gifts God gave you, put away all falsehood etc...)
●For learning from these situations for the nurturing of spiritual and personal growth.

Did it miraculously change the behavior and attitude of my kids or me? NO but it reminded us all to turn toward the father, make amends and stop the cycle of feeding off of one another's sin.

Read, pray on and memorize the scriptures above. If you want to discuss further or have questions please message me! Or call us at The Bridge Therapeutic Services

Believers fight anxiety by faith. We “cast” our anxieties by throwing them on God. Fighting anxiety requires the concrete act of deliberately entrusting our worries to God in prayer. Note that Peter doesn’t say God cares for you because you cast your anxiety on Him. No, it’s the opposite. His care for you predates your actions. Because He already cares, you can now cast!
