10 week small group opportunity for teen girls…weekly on Mondays at 6pm beginning Sept 8th, 6-7pm at 305 W Rusk St, Tyler 75701

$5 per week. Thanks to a grant received from Catholic Charities, sessions are only $5 dollars per session, with a total of $50 dollars for the full 10 weeks. Each girl will also receive a new Bible if she does not have one already. Thank you Catholic Charities for making this group more accessible!

The Walking With Purpose ministry Sisters of Strength and BLAZE teen programs bridge the gap between the truths God reveals to us through Scripture and a teen girl’s ability to receive those truths in a way that feels relevant to her daily life. These two programs will be our guide for our meetings.

Ultimately, these programs teach teen girls about their inherent dignity and goodness. This is achieved through a beautiful progression in the curriculum. It begins with friendship, because that is what we have found the girls are most concerned about. Then Sisters of Strength teaches the girls about their identity. The goal is for the girls to see themselves through the eyes of God and enter into a relationship with Him. The final section is on purpose and God’s plan for His daughters.

This group will be facilitated by a counselor, who will help integrate mental health concerns like self esteem, developing boundaries, and overall development of identity into the curriculum.

Our team includes counselors with advanced training and certifications in Marriage counseling, Trauma, EMDR, Anger Management, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and now we have one more new credential in house!

Sister Josephine (Toni) is now an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP)! Sister provides affordable & comprehensive assessment and diagnostic services for ADHD, as well as consultations on treatment approaches for children, teens and adults.

“I believe that we are all made for relationship and that we are each a beautiful, unique and unrepeatable mystery. In my studies to be a counselor, I became fascinated with specialties that leaned heavily on neurobiology because I saw within the study of neurobiology and how it informs our understanding of mental health, evidence of these abiding truths about who we are and how we’re created. Knowing our gifts, talents, behavior styles and hopes is a huge part of knowing how we are each called to live virtuous and full lives that contribute good and change in the world.

In this workshop high school aged girls will have the opportunity to assess their own gifts, talents, behavior styles and hopes for the future, and reflect on how that informs how they are called to live out their purpose in life. Assessments provided to participants will include the Holland Career Assessment, the Myers Briggs Assessments, the Temperaments assessment and the Spiritual Gifts inventory for teens. The participants will be provided with opportunities for reflection to integrate their assessment results to discern more clearly their future hopes and plans.

Enrollment includes option for parents to book a session to discuss their daughter's assessment results - option available to bill this session through in network insurance companies
