Today, interns conducted a valuable session on the Kawa Model, a framework that illustrates the flow of life through its various elements. The model includes:

Water (Mizu), symbolizing energy and well-being.

River Banks (Torimaki), representing the social environment.

Rocks (Iwa), which signify challenges.

Driftwood (Ryuboku), embodying personal resources.

Spaces (Sukima), opportunities for growth.

Understanding these components is crucial for effective therapeutic practices.

Godzilla is a happy new member addition to Smith County Clubhouse and the other members were more than willing to accept him into the bunch.

We spent the day at the Caldwell Zoo!

Though we made new friends, our membership numbers did NOT increase.
Try though we did to persuade them with tasty treats, the giraffes are still safely roaming their enclosure at the zoo and politely declined our invite to the Clubhouse for a visit.

All jokes aside, everyone truly enjoyed themselves and we hope to visit again when temperatures are cooler and the animals are a bit more active.

A good time was had by all!

Three years ago today, this life saving service began helping many lives with another resource when in crisis.
Today, it still serves a great purpose and we recommend calling or texting if you or a loved one is in a life threatening situation.

There is hope and there is help, and we want to be here for you through part of your mental wellness journey.

We continue to work hard for Tyler and the surrounding areas, and encourage you to check out our website or spend a day with us to see if membership with Smith County Clubhouse can benefit your life for the better. Many of our members do report better quality of life, and fulfillment, by having a place to come, build skills, and socialize.

In the meantime, we wish everyone a happy and healthy week.
