Champions for Children of Smith County Helping Children Start School Ready To Learn and Develop Their Full Potential

Champions' provides training, mentoring and tools to childcare teachers and individual interventions to children with developmental delays and behavioral challenges. Professional teacher training, consultation and mentoring ensure that teachers are trained to deliver developmentally appropriate educational activities. Champions' Resource Room provides a variety of (free) tools and materials to ensure that teachers have access to age-appropriate materials for use in their classrooms. Champions' staff also provide individual interventions to children who present developmental delays or behavioral challenges through our Brain Gym® , counseling and our autism program.

💡 Over time, this builds trust and teaches children that big emotions don’t push people away. Regulation comes before reasoning, and connection comes before correction.

Our Story

Champions' provides training, mentoring and tools to childcare teachers and individual interventions to children with developmental delays and behavioral challenges. Professional teacher training, consultation and mentoring ensure that teachers are trained to deliver developmentally appropriate educational activities. Champions' Resource Room provides a variety of (free) tools and materials to ensure that teachers have access to age-appropriate materials for use in their classrooms.

Champions' staff also provide individual interventions to children who present developmental delays or behavioral challenges through our Brain Gym® and Nurturing Pathways®.

In 2019, Champions for Children launched an Autism Education and Resources program to help parents identify tools and services to help their child be successful. With a Licensed Professional Counselor to provide counseling and play therapy, Champions for Children is supporting children and families in our community!
