Keeping our students and community safe is always a top priority. UT Health East Texas EMS/AIR 1 recently donated five Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) bags to the Athens Police Department, placing them with School Resource Officers on Athens ISD campuses. We also helped distribute 24 nasal Narcan dispensers, provided by the State of Texas, to give officers another tool to save lives in the event of an opioid overdose. We hope these supplies never have to be used. But if they are, they’ll help protect our children, educators and neighbors in times of crisis. We’re grateful for the partnership of Athens Police Department and Athens ISD, and proud to stand alongside our first responders in making our schools and community safer.
