As amputees we must always protect our "good leg".

If you hurt your "good ankle" you can be out of commission for a few days and have no way to stop your wife from getting a baby goat. 🤣

Now I am limping...and walking a goat 🙄

Getting back on the road as an amputee can be overwhelming. Just getting in the truck is the first obstacle.

Here are 3 ways to get in:

1. Back in. Back up to the seat, slide yourself in, rotate in the seat.
2. Lead with your good leg. Put your weight on your good leg and hop on in.
3. Lead with your prosthesis and make sure to use the "oh crap" handles to pull yourself up.

Simple tasks can seem huge when you're now missing a limb. Take is slow and be careful. And never hesitate to call us. We get it. We understand. We are you.

Take the stairs!

But, instead of alternating legs with each step, lead with your prosthesis every step.

Yes it will take longer to get to the top...but the extra work for your residual limb will pay off!
