We've been soaking up the summer vibes with a splash of color and a whole lot of fun! Every other Tuesday, the book club at Atria Grass Valley gathers to dive into exciting reads, and their recent selection was no exception! Residents read "Blind Descent" by Nevada Barr, a gripping mystery set in the caves of Carlsbad Caverns.

For Richard, architecture was never just a job – it was a lifelong adventure in creativity. For more than five decades, he designed everything from libraries and hospitals to luxury homes and award-winning churches.

“I worked on so many different kinds of projects, with so many wonderful people,” he says. “I was very lucky. The real reward is seeing your buildings finished and people enjoying them.”

Friendship, like flowers, starts as a sprout. And, with time and care, it blossoms into something beautiful!

Shirley, one of our wonderful Resident Ambassadors at Atria Park of Vintage Hills and an avid gardener, inspired fellow resident Phyllis to start her own garden this spring by sharing seeds – and now Phyllis’s garden bed is in full bloom!

It’s a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to try something new — or to make a new friend along the way.

Here’s to growing together, one bloom at a time!

We embraced the spirit of nature with our Great Outdoors Social Series event! 🌄

We mixed things up at the trail mix bar. We had an unforgettable time with The Creature Teacher, who brought some wild and wonderful animal friends to visit! Our residents and their little guests were all smiles and curiosity! A special thank you to our very own Mr. Lorenza, who shared his passion and wisdom as a former Scout Master. His original scouting books and patches brought back beautiful memories and inspired future adventurers. 🏕️

Thank you to all the mini adventurers—our residents' amazing grandchildren and great-grandchildren— and all who joined the fun and made the day even more special!

Meet Terry, a proud U.S. Army veteran and resident of Atria at Hometown. 🇺🇸

After 20 years of military service – including a combat tour in Vietnam and a career in Army JAG – Terry went on to work in federal investigations, covering high-profile cases for agencies like the SEC and Department of Justice. Through it all, one thing stayed constant: his deep commitment to service and integrity.

“I’ve had a great life,” he says. “Every turn seemed to come with a blessing. And I love it here at Hometown,” he adds. “It’s peaceful. We don’t have any stress, any problems, anything. When we got here, I felt like I was in heaven."

Meet Jay, a resident at Atria Grapevine whose love for quilting is matched only by her love for her husband, Jimmy.

Jay and Jimmy moved in nearly three years ago, after his dementia diagnosis, and they’ve found more than just care – they’ve found community. “We know everybody – all the workers, everybody – and it’s so friendly. That’s a real support system for me and Jimmy.”

When she’s not spending time with Jimmy or her neighbors, Jay stays busy stitching quilts, table runners and binding projects for friends (and even her sister). “It’s very calming to me. I enjoy it. There’s a real sense of accomplishment.”

She even transformed her pantry into a cozy sewing nook – a space dedicated to her personal passion.

Massage, Mimosas & Meaningful Connections! 🥂💆‍♀️

What a beautiful day at Atria Copeland as we hosted senior care professionals from across Tyler for a relaxing Spa Event!

Guests enjoyed rejuvenating mini massages, a mimosa bar, and delicious cucumber bites from our talented culinary team.

They also met our dedicated nurse and directors while receiving a tour of our welcoming community and gained valuable insights into the differences between Assisted Living Type A and Type B — knowledge that helps us all better serve our seniors.

The afternoon continued with more spa bliss and education at Atria Willow Park — making it a full day of relaxation, learning, and shared passion for senior care.

We had a blooming good time at our summer Paint & Sip! In honor of Tyler, Texas—widely recognized as the Rose Capital of America—we put brush to canvas and created beautiful rose masterpieces.

Who won the Chef Showdown? Our taste testers agree that Sylvia, our resident competitor, deserved to take home the trophy for the best cake recipe! 🧑‍🍳🏆

Our two resident competitors, Mary and Sylvia, along with their daughters—who served as their sous chefs—faced off against our chef, Bryan, in this showdown for the best cake recipe. What a wonderful culinary celebration. Thanks to our chefs and panelists, Austin with Solaris Healthcare, Nicolette with Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, our local firefighters City of Tyler Fire Department, and to everyone who helped whisk up some fun.

We are still reminiscing on our 4th of July weekend at Atria Copeland! 🇺🇸🎆

What a star-spangled weekend we had! We kicked off our Independence Day celebration with a lively and patriotic performance by the incredible Bobby Jackson! Followed by a cookout-themed lunch that brought all the summer favorites—juicy burgers, sizzling hot dogs, and plenty of smiles to go around. 🍔🌭☀️

We’re so grateful for moments like these—great food, joyful company, and the freedom to celebrate together. From all of us at Atria Copeland, we hope your 4th of July weekend was just as sweet!
