Our Taste Poland event featured classic Central European flavors, including pierogies with caramelized onions, kielbasa with cucumber salad, potatoes and sauerkraut, and sernik, traditional Polish cheesecake.

Who knew moving to Atria Seville could spark a beautiful friendship?

(Spoiler alert, we did. 😉)

Jeanne and Rickie, once strangers, now share their days filled with laughter. Whether you catch them waiting excitedly to go to meals or immersed in their art projects, their bond is truly something special. They embrace every opportunity to explore together on lunch outings and see live entertainment, and lead resident council meetings together.

Known for being an energetic, friendly and outgoing force of nature, she is always the first on the dance floor and the heart of every event, bringing joy and connection wherever she goes. Ruthie loves welcoming new neighbors, helping others feel at home and building meaningful connections.

Ruthie says it best: “I love being an ambassador because it gives me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, each with their own unique stories, perspectives and experiences to share. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that I love to talk!”

Join us on Friday, October 31st at 6 PM to enjoy candy, kindness and fun at our annual trick-or-treat event, or should we say, trunk-or-treat event that’s open to the public and perfect for all ages. When Hurricane Michael destroyed Portia’s Florida home, her daughter Danna worried about what would come next. What they found was more than just a safe place to live – it was a community that celebrates Portia’s talents as an artist and creates new friendships while providing the support she needs.

“I really like that there are nurses there and there’s a doctor who comes by once a week,” Danna says. “It puts me at ease to know that there are people there in case she needs anything health-wise.”

A big celebration was held at Atria Park of Ann Arbor for Daryl's 101st birthday!

When we asked her what 101 years of life is like, she said, "It's been all over the map – I've had good times and bad times. But I'm very grateful to have lived for this long. Life is still fun!"

She likes going for rides, being with her kids, reading, sleeping, and of course, ice cream. "There is always time for ice cream," she adds.

Our Page Turners Social Series event was a hit, bringing our resident bookworms together for a book swap, and sharing in some delicious snacks.

We had a wonderful time welcoming local author Dana Wayne to Atria Copeland! Dana shared her inspiring journey as a writer and how her stories came to life. Guests enjoyed hearing about her creative process and personal experiences that bring her books to life.

Several lucky attendees received autographed copies of her novels, a special holiday-themed gift, and enjoyed a book swap. Thank you, Dana, for sharing your time, talent, and Texas charm with us!

Paul's got the beat!

Not only is he a wonderful member of the kitchen staff at Atria Maplewood Place, but he's also a professional drummer!

He recently brought the community's courtyard to life, transporting his drum set all the way from home to share his talents with residents.

"I started banging on pots and pans as a kid before taking lessons and eventually attending Berklee College of Music," he shares. Over the years, Paul has played in all kinds of bands and even does studio work when he can.

We are so fortunate when we get to see the amazing hidden talents of our team. Thanks for sharing your music with us, Paul!

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we savored the flavors of Guatemala. Known as the birthplace of chocolate, Guatemalan cuisine blends Mayan tradition with Spanish influences to create vibrant and tasty dishes.

On the menu: tostones with guacamole, enchiladas, refried black beans, cucumber salad, and tres leches cake. Afterwards we enjoyed a film that followed the beautiful history of Guatemala.
