What is TMJS or TMJD?🤔
Temporal mandibular joint syndrome and temporal mandibular joint disorder
A symptom is a group of signs/symptoms that consistently appear together, often without a known single cause. A disorder is a functional disturbance or abnormality in the body or mind that disrupts normal function, which might have a known cause but often describes functional impairment.
60-70% of the population have TMJS and 5-12% have TMJD
They symptoms range from jaw pain/ discomfort, clicking or popping of the jaw, difficulty chewing, earaches, reduced range of motion in the jaw or neck, teeth pain, headaches (including migraines)
TM specific massage helps reduce tension, inflammation and improve range of motion by addressing the root cause.
