The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi in 2025 will be celebrated on Saturday, October 4. This day honors St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, ecology, and Italy, who was known for his life of simplicity and love for all of God's creation. 

Traditional events

Celebrations of St. Francis's feast day often include:

Blessing of the animals: Many churches, both Catholic and Anglican, hold services on or around October 4 where people can bring their pets to be blessed.

Feast Day Masses: Special Mass services are held at Franciscan churches and other parishes to honor the saint.

The Transitus: This solemn ceremony on the evening of October 3 commemorates St. Francis's passing from earthly life to eternal life.

Jubilee Year pilgrimage: Since 2025 is a Jubilee Year, special pilgrimages to Assisi, Italy, are taking place to attend the celebrations where St. Francis lived and died. 

A national holiday in Italy

Beginning in 2025, St. Francis's feast day on October 4 will be a reinstated national holiday in Italy. The Italian parliament approved the measure to honor St. Francis and St. Catherine of Siena, the country's patron saints. 

How to celebrate

Beyond attending formal church events, there are many ways to celebrate the feast day: 

Spend time with your pets or volunteer at an animal shelter.

Pray the Prayer of St. Francis, also known as the Prayer for Peace.

Reflect on St. Francis's teachings by reading his Canticle of the Creatures and considering ways to better care for the environment.

Many organizations, including the Laudato Si' Movement, mark the day as the conclusion of the Season of Creation, and you can participate in related events.

Found this beautiful temperment, loving 4 month old lab mix puppy. We found her in the fields by Everglades National Park. Took her to Miami dade Animal Shelter, and we are currently fostering. All shots and vaccines are up to date. Please DM us. She is so friendly and lives people.

When you feel that someone is lying to you, before seeking the truth in a good conversation, invoke beloved Pallas Athena, goddess of truth, and her ray of Divine Truth.

Visualize the person surrounded by a lime green light (the lightest shade of lime green), say aloud:

Expose the Truth, (3x)
Expose the Lie (3x)

Show me everything I need to know about . . .
(say the names of the people involved and explain the situation) and continue:

When talking to the person, keep visualizing the green over them while you talk, and always look at their third eye, between their eyebrows, and keep thinking:
