To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we chose to fully fund eight classrooms: Ms. Sayd(Ardenwood), Ms. Mitra(Ardenwood), Ms. Nhin(Centerville), Ms. Baughman(Cesar Chavez), Ms. De Bono(Kitayama), Ms. Kocher(Pioneer), Ms. So An(Searles), and Ms. Barcelos(Gomes - Dr. Scott's old elementary school). Eight is considered a lucky number in Chinese because the character sounds just like the word "prosperous." Thank you to all of our educators for what they do for our community and for our children. Happy Year of the Snake! Good health and good fortune to all.

We wanted to thank everyone for their understanding and being gracious enough to adjust some appointment times with Dr. Chong being out of the office last week. He helps to teach a Filipino martial art (Villabrille-Largusa Kali, kali.us) and his first student just passed their Board exam at the annual workshop in South Carolina. And a big thank you to those who reached out; Dr. Chong and his group were fortunately not in an area affected by the storm. His hotel was filled with refugees from surrounding areas, however. To help them with this unexpected tragedy, our office sponsored a weekend hotel stay for a family with young children. For now, the other instructors and students from Tampa have all reported themselves safe. We may do an additional fundraiser through the office to help those in the affected areas. In the meantime, please hold Tampa in your prayers.

It seems summer flew by faster than normal. To celebrate our dedicated teachers returning to school, we decided to fully fund three classrooms. We sent STEM materials to Ms. Payton at Searles, Circuit Makers to Ms. Lola at Niles, and a Library Repair Kit to Ms. Sayd at Ardenwood. On behalf of a grateful community, we truly appreciate everything our teachers do for our children.

We thought we'd celebrate the Lunar New Year by supporting several of our local schools: Ms. Juno for Leadership Public School in Hayward, Ms. Ramos at James Logan, Mrs. Srini at Mission Valley Elementary, Ms. Dekker at John Horner Middle School, and Dr. Spencer at Warwick Elementary. Their projects cover a range from STEM to makerspace to dictionaries and even much needed snacks and celebration for college applicants. Thank you to all of our educators!
