Just a glimpse on the farm side!
We started our day by releasing a feral male cat that we were able to catch and bring to the vets for a full work up including neuter surgery.
Later today we received a call about a bee swarm in the grass on the side of the road. Apparently these girls had been there since Tuesday morning all huddled together working hard to keep the queen alive and warm. Unusual for bees to swarm in the grass and an indication that the queen may be unable to fly for various reasons. It was a very large swarm, probably more of a case of absconding from the hive. When placing my hand closer to them, I could literally feel the heat being generated from the shivering of their wings. Thanks To my beekeeping husband, they have a safe new home on the farm just in time for the lavender season😉
