It's National Community Health Worker Awareness Week! This week, we want to recognize the CHWs who play a vital role in serving the underserved population in our community.

Jocelyn is a community case worker based in Union, South Carolina. She serves patients through our Medical Group of the Carolinas pediatrics, family medicine and ob/gyn practices at Union Medical Center.

Jocelyn has always had a heart for serving people; and being a Union resident, she's able to share knowledge regarding resources in this community that folks might not know about.

"I'm grateful to be able to bring this work to our MGC locations and alleviate some of these strains off of providers so that they can focus on direct patient care," Jocelyn said.

We're so grateful for the work she does in the Union community!

Union Medical Center welcomed the Gregory family to the campus Tuesday as they held a tree dedication ceremony to honor the late Gene Gregory, owner of longtime Union fixture Gene's Fine Foods, who died in 2022, as well as Gene Gregory's great-grandson, Drue Owen, 21, who died in 2023. A blossoming crape myrtle tree now grows in front of Union Medical Center next to an engraved plaque that displays the loved ones' names.
