I hosted my first workshop yesterday & it felt a bit like a dream. 🐚 I appreciate all of the lovely ladies I got to spend my afternoon with & your shells turned out soo beautiful!!! I really enjoyed seeing the different variations & designs. ✨ What type of art/ craft would you be interested in trying at Vito’s if I were to host another?

Smith had the day off today so we took a trip up to . Saving an old place and reinventing its purpose to better your community…. Is just so so special. ✨ Liz & Andrew Sparks are doing it in my little childhood mountain town of Indian Head…and they’re doing it soo well in this otherwise wouldn’ve been empty, church.⛪️ You must check this place out! I had a yummy salad, matcha tea, & an orange cookie for lunch while enjoying the company of one of my favorite guys. I told Smith we were going to the mountains for lunch… & he said “well, I’ll need my walking stick.” 🥰

Since we have a few new friends here I wanted to say hello, welcome, and thank you for choosing to follow along. We are proud city residents of Uniontown, investors, dreamers, friends, & owners of the 1848. An old gal with a new purpose. A house that has stood the test of time since 1848, 13 years prior to our American Civil War. I hope this preservation passion project inspires you to continue seeking untapped potential in & around you. Open your eyes & heart to the possibilities of a sleepy retired brick home located in a once booming city nestled below the Appalachian mountains. I feel the soul of Uniontown when I see a show at the State Theatre, I feel the soul of Uniontown when I listen to the stories of our elders. I feel the soul of Uniontown when I go to our Farmers Market, or when I see the work of new blooming non-profits within our city, or… when I attend Christmas in the square…. Etc, etc. Fayette County, this tiny pocket in SW PA is my home, & I welcome you to come & share it. ALL love & positive seeds of growth are welcome here. ☮️💌

I have to share a heartfelt thank you to Jeffrey Hughes for noticing the work that we’ve done to little 25 W. Fayette St, also known as The 1848. To have another artist see value in your work is one of the greatest compliments I could receive. As I tell all who visit, I want locals to see what can be done to an otherwise unused/misused space and start seeing the potential that surrounds them here in Uniontown. I also want visitors from elsewhere to know there’s a home away from home for them right HERE. made a beautiful coffee table book with some of his photography from the Laurel Highlands, & we’re in it!!!! I’m looking forward to having one in all of our airbnbs to continue to show others the beauty that surrounds us in Fayette County. ✨ I’m grateful for your art and you . This book can also be ordered at this time by reaching out to Jeffrey. It will soon be available for purchase as well in house 📖

Another empty paint bucket 🪣 . So satisfying. It won’t be long before another cozy home away from home is offered at the 1848. 🏡 I’m so excited to put the final decorative touches on this space. ♥️

The question of the day… what do the words, universal value, mean to you? Following that question, I want to know what are ways that we can make the spaces that we exist in have such a sense of purposeful thought behind all that we put into the space that we, ourselves, feel valued? Fallingwater, re-visiting you always feels like time spent with an old friend. I imagine it’s how the elves feel upon returning to Rivendell. As a person who never misses a detail…. Everything about Fallingwater …makes , sense. What a special visit to see it being preserved in action so that others can experience it for many years to come. Thank you to Fallingwater for offering a Fayette County Day! We are residents who are so proud to share our home with yours. ♥️
