Do you have or know a youth (12-18) who could use some help healing trauma through THEATER?

Registration for Acts of Healing is now OPEN on our website!!

Registration is for all 3 shows, fall (play), winter (musical), spring (actor written production)!! Rehearsals will be Wednesdays from 6-8 in University City.

We can’t wait for these youth to experience the power of storytelling!!!

This is getting exciting!!

Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to Acts of Healing.

We are a brand new nonprofit in St. Louis, MO focused on working through trauma with theater.

The mission of Acts of Healing is to support youth who have experienced trauma, while they learn to allow, understand, and express emotion in a healthy and productive way through words, movement, and personal expression.

We will be working with youth 12-18 to create a play, musical, and an actor written production. Each built to build on each other in different ways to express and identify emotions.

We’re looking for volunteers to help at Pride & Joy on Sunday, June 1st! Link in comments.

There are a variety of roles to fill throughout the day, but mostly we need lots of friendly faces and helpful hands ready to jump in wherever they’re needed.

8-10am Set up!
10-2pm Event support!
2-3:30pm Breakdown!

It’s the most wholesome and heartwarming day. You don’t want to miss the chance to make magic for q***r youth and their families.

Sometimes healing can look aggressive, but when it is guided and safe, it can let feelings out that have been keeping you down. So proud of this kiddo for letting things out and letting them go!

I do not know where this originated, and I honestly cut off the last sentence, which said, “Kids are not ready for social media. It starts with us parents.” I cut that off because no one is ready for social media. The same thing happens to adults. Forever, comedy has been laughing at short comings. It is an uncomfortable laughter, it is a laughter of relief that we are not the brunt, it is a laughter that we are not alone, but it is not a laughter of love or joy. Social media hurts. Hurt people hurt.

If your kiddos are on it, you need to be on it also. For their mental health.
