June Is Acne Awareness Month
If you have acne can you wear makeup?
YES
Use makeup, skin care products, and hair care products that say NON-COMEDOGENIC
Some makeup, along with many skin and hair care products, contain oil or other ingredients that can cause acne breakouts.
What to do instead: Use only makeup, sunscreen, skin, and hair-care products that are labeled “non-comedogenic” or “won’t clog pores.” These products don’t cause breakouts in most people.
Share makeup, makeup brushes, or makeup applicators.
Even if you use only non-comedogenic products, sharing makeup can lead to blemishes. Acne isn’t contagious, but when you share makeup, makeup brushes, or applicators, the acne-causing bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells on other people’s skin can wind up in your makeup. When you use that makeup, you can transfer their bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells to your skin. These can clog your pores, leading to breakouts.
What to do instead: Make sure you’re the only person who uses your makeup, makeup brushes, and makeup applicators.
Dont Sleep in your makeup. (we are all guilty of this)
Even non-comedogenic makeup can cause acne if you sleep in it.
What to do instead: Remove your makeup before you go to bed. No exceptions. If you’re too tired to wash your face, use a makeup remover towelette. Just make sure it’s a non-comedogenic towelette.

#ramsayhuntsyndrome is a condition caused by a reactivation of the #virus that causes #shingles and #chickenpox.
After chickenpox clears up, the virus still lives in your nerves. Years later, it may reactivate.
When it does, it can affect your facial nerves.
The #facialnerve is affected unilaterally and you may see a rash around the ear.
The facial nerve is critical for many things like : balance, taste, vision, movement of your face,
That is why he is having difficulty to blink chew smile on one side of his face.
We typically see shingles in older patients above the age of 50 or those with immunocompromise.
With Covid several case reports of younger patients have been reported.
Recovery time is variable.
Treatment Includes:
✔️Antiviral drugs. Medications such as acyclovir (Zovirax), famciclovir (Famvir) or valacyclovir (Valtrex) often help combat the chickenpox virus.
✔️Corticosteroids. A short regimen of high-dose prednisone appears to boost the effect of antiviral drugs in Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
✔️Pain rmedications The pain associated with Ramsay Hunt syndrome can be severe.
Thank you to Justine Beiber for sharing this with the public to help raise awareness
Wishing Justin and his family health and a full and speedy recovery.

🥼Dimples are caused by a change in a facial muscle called the zygomaticus major.
In people with dimples, the zygomaticus major may divide into two separate bundles of muscle on its way down to the mouth. One bundle connects at the corner of the mouth. The other bundle connects below the corner of the mouth and is also tethered to the skin above it.
This split in the muscle can be referred to as a double or bifid zygomaticus major muscle. Movement of the skin over the double zygomaticus major muscle when you smile causes the dimple to form.
