Birth prep exercises are meant to prepare your body for the demands of labor and delivery 🤰🏻and help your baby get into optimal position, typically we start to cater sessions towards birth prep around 30-36 weeks depending on the individual

Birth prep exercises address:
👉🏼pelvic floor tension
👉🏼hip mobility
👉🏼pelvis mobility
👉🏼spinal mobility

Which all play a role in working WITH your baby during labor 🤜

Hi! 👋🏼I’m Dr.Caitlin, the owner of Engage PT, mom of a sweet 2yo and wife🩷

I started Engage Health + PT 4 years ago so that I could provide amazing care to help others fully ✨ENGAGE ✨in life....I’ve worked with so many people suffering with pain or weakness and not be able to do the things they love to do like 🏃🏼‍♀️run, hike, lift weights 🏋🏻‍♀️or simply be able to work or parent without dealing with their health problems which really wrecks our mental health and daily well-being😵‍💫

I also wanted to help others not just get out of pain or stiffness but truly get back to their fitness and health goals so that they can be healthy and active for a LONG time (any other first time mom’s in their 30s out there🤪?!)

I previously worked in the corporate world and mom & pop shop and there was just not enough time and energy when you see clients back to back ALL day to fully invest in each individual and give them exactly what they need and want☹️

👉🏼So welcome to the side of healthcare where we take time to fully hear your story, invest in you and get you back to where you want to be!‼️👏🏻👏🏻

✨Pelvic Organ Prolapse Symptoms✨

This condition is when there is loss of support of 1 or more compartments of the v@gina

Very common after childbirth 👶🏽due to changes during pregnancy, long labors and long pushing phase

Prolapse is also pretty common after going through menopause due to shifts in hormones

What I want you to know is that it is normal to feel like there is more movement down there after giving birth and definitely normal to feel heaviness those early PP weeks as your pelvic floor muscles have been through A LOT of stretching and aren’t as strong

But also there is SO MUCH you can do to manage these symptoms and keep them at bay...

Working with a Pelvic Floor PT to evaluate 🔍you, treat what needs to be treated, educate and empower you 💪🏼is the way to go!! Don’t feel like you just have to deal with these symptoms or go at it alone. DM if you have questions!

Yall, that’s HUGE‼️

And a big driver on why we love helping women be active and stay active!!🧘🏽‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏋🏻‍♀️

It’s not only about the body and feeling good, but even more importantly exercise is amazing for our MOOD😃

What those 15 minutes of moderate intensity could look like:
▪️A brisk walk w/ the stroller
▪️A vinyasa flow
▪️Cycling on your peloton
▪️Lifting weights
▪️Swimming

For any mama 🤱🏻struggling with PP anxiety and depression, I know it’s not easy and exercise is not the only thing, but I hope you can find encouragement that there is strong evidence MOVEMENT will help
