Ganesh Gayatri Mantra

In a fight with Guru Parashuram, he threw an axe at Lord Gajanan which was a gift to him by his father. So to honor this gift, Ganesha chose to bear the axe’s blow instead of destroying it. Ganesha thus lost one his tusk, but gained humility and modesty.

“Aum Ekadantaya Viddhamahe, Vakratundaya Dhimahi,
Tanno Danti Prachodayat”

Meaning :

Ekadantaya – The one with the single tusked elephant tooth.
Viddhamahe – who is omnipresent.
Vakratundaya – Curved trunk.
Dhimahi – We meditate upon and pray for greater intellect.
Tanno Danti – We bow before the one with the single tusked elephant tooth.
Prachodayat – Illuminate our minds with wisdom.

Full meaning : “We pray to the one with the single-tusked elephant tooth who is omnipresent. We meditate upon and pray for greater intellect to the Lord with the curved, elephant-shaped trunk. We bow before the one with the single-tusked elephant tooth to illuminate our minds with wisdom.”

Ekadanta referring to one tusk in the elephant face means that God broke the duality and made us to have a complete one-pointed mind.

Benefit : This Mantra encourages modesty, righteousness and high end wisdom in those who chant it.

One thousand Kriya practiced in eight hours gives the yogi, in one day, the equivalent of one thousand years of natural evolution: 365,000 years of evolution in one year. In three years, a Kriya Yogi can thus accomplish by intelligent self-effort the same result which nature brings to pass in a million years. The Kriya short cut, of course, can be taken only by deeply developed yogis. With the guidance of a guru, such yogis have carefully prepared their bodies and brains to receive the power created by intensive practice.
The Kriya beginner employs his yogic exercise only fourteen to twenty-eight times, twice daily. A number of yogis achieve emancipation in six or twelve or twenty-four or forty-eight years. A yogi who dies before achieving full realization carries with him the good karma of his past Kriya effort; in his new life he is harmoniously propelled toward his Infinite Goal.

प्रिय मित्रों, आज का दिन बाबाजी दिवस के रूप में जाना जाता है, जब बाबाजी ने योगानंद जी की क्रिया योग का संदेश फैलाने हेतु अमेरिका की यात्रा के लिए आशीर्वाद दिए थे। 🙏🏻🕉️

"ये अवश्य ही बाबाजी हैं!" मैंने सोचा, अचंभित, क्योंकि मेरे सामने खड़े व्यक्ति में युवा लाहिड़ी महाशय की विशेषताएँ थी।

उन्होंने मेरे विचार की उत्तर दिया। "हाँ, मैं बाबाजी हूँ।" उन्होंने मधुरता से हिंदी में बात की। "हमारे परमपिता ने तुम्हारे प्रार्थना सुन ली है। उन्होंने मुझे तुम्हें बताने का आदेश दिया है: अपने गुरु की आज्ञा मानो और अमेरिका जाओ। डरो नहीं; तुम्हारी रक्षा होगी।"

एक जीवंत विराम के बाद, बाबाजी ने मुझे पुन: संबोधित किया। "तुम ही हो जिसे मैंने पश्चिम में क्रिया योग का संदेश फैलाने के लिए चुना है। बहुत समय पहले, मैं तुम्हारे गुरु युक्तेश्वर को कुंभ मेले में मिला था; मैंने तब उन्हें कहा था कि मैं तुम्हें प्रशिक्षण के लिए उनके पास भेजूँगा।"

मैं अवाक था, उनकी उपस्थिति पर भक्तिमय विस्मय से गद्गद्, और स्वयं उनके होंटो से यह सुनकर मैं बहुत गहराई से प्रभावित हुआ कि उन्होंने श्री युक्तेश्वरजी की ओर मेरा मार्गदर्शन किया था। मैंने अमर गुरु को साष्टांग प्रणाम किया। उन्होंने सौम्य भाव से मुझे ज़मीन से उठाया। मेरे जीवन के बारे में अनेक बातें बताते हुए, उन्होंने उस समय मुझे कुछ व्यक्तिगत आदेश दिए, और कुछ गुप्त भविष्यवाणियाँ की।

"क्रिया योग, ईश्वर-बोध की वैज्ञानिक विधि," उन्होंने गंभीरता से कहा, "अंतत: सभी राष्ट्रों में फैलेगी और व्यक्ति की असीम पिता की अवर्णीय व्यक्तिगत अनुभूति के माध्यम से राष्ट्रों के बीच समरसता लाने में सहायता करेगी।"

महिमामयी शक्तिपूर्ण दृष्टि के साथ, गुरूजी ने मुझे अपनी ब्रह्माण्डीय चेतना की झलक से सशक्त किया।
