Here's a tip for the runners out there. Especially if you have calf pain.
All too often when our calves are painful, we stretch them. This is a good habit, but why do they keep getting so tight???
It's because the calves keep performing beyond what they are currently capable of doing.
The calves are responsible for softening the landing in midfoot and forefoot strikers, yet we continue to stretch and do heel raises.
The calves should be trained in a way that mimics the quick reactive nature of the running step 👉 like jump roping!
If you want to be able to run 6, 10, 20, 50+ miles... you're calves better be in good plyometric shape. Tendon stiffness can be a positive training adaption to aid this.
Give it a shot 💪🔨
