This is the email I received today from our main jewelry supplier. (Not in China) The tariffs will boost our wholesale costs 40%. This makes retail prices go up 40%. Example: a ring that was $100 wholesale is now $140. The old retail was $200, now $280. This will limit how much people can afford to buy, and how much we can afford to stock.
Hopefully this should make tarrifs vs inflation easier to understand from a small business standpoint.
