As children engage less in educational activities and lose intellectual stimulation over the summer, their knowledge and abilities can regress. Combatting this slide is crucial to maintain and build upon the gains made during the school year. Donia Torabian is an educational specialist with 15 years of experience in private, public, charter, gifted magnet, and international classrooms. She uses Universal Design for Learning to create inclusive lessons that specialize in supporting students with various learning challenges, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, depression, and much more. Donia holds a Master's of Education degree and multiple subject teaching credential from the UCLA Teacher Education Program. Additionally, she is trained in teaching Writers' Workshop and Cognitively Guided Instruction in Math and is currently an Adjunct Professor at California State University Northridge. Along with her teaching certifications, Donia is a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher. Donia takes a more holistic approach to learning that emphasizes self-care and emotional regulation.
