We’re sad to announce that Roger Hightower, alumni and former Board President of the Talbot House, has passed away this morning in Florida. The world is a better place having had Roger in it and helping alcoholics all along the way…rest easy old friend.

Obituary
Edward T. “Ed Fred” Frederick, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born on July 11, 1938, in New Albany, Indiana.

Ed was a loving and loyal son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. Those he leaves behind know that he has achieved his humble prayer to “be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with God forever in the next.”

Sober for 38 years, he was a member of the Alcoholics Anonymous community and a mentor to countless people who passed through his life as they were finding their way. His commitment to a life of gratitude and acceptance governed his relationship with self, others, and his Higher Power.

Visitation will take place Thursday from 3-8pm at Highlands Funeral Home 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Louisville, KY.
Funeral Service will take place at 11am Friday with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
