Today we hung up a special sign here at The Caldwell House — a small but meaningful tribute that says “In Loving Memory of Grady Willis Parton.”

Grady wasn’t just someone passing through — he was a brother to many of us, a friend to all, and a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. His kind heart, his humble spirit, and that unforgettable smile left a mark on this house and on our hearts. We wanted to create a space that would forever carry his name, because he truly meant that much to us.

Grady, we’ll miss you deeply, but your memory will live on in the stories, the laughter, and the love that still echo through these walls. You’ll always be a part of The Caldwell House family. 🕊️❤️

Caldwell House has been chosen to receive a grant in the amount of $10,000.00 for Road to Recovery initiative. This grant is made possible through a recommendation from the Unifour Foundation, a component fund of the North Carolina Community Foundation.

🚐 Grateful Beyond Words! 🙏

Right now, we have 15 amazing clients working hard every day on their journeys to healing and growth. With only one van (pictured here!), it’s been a real challenge getting everyone to where they need to be—doctor’s appointments, therapy, job interviews, recovery meetings, and more.

This grant brings us one big step closer to having the reliable transportation we need to support each man's path to recovery. 💙

The Caldwell House is a structured, supportive environment for men recovering from substance use disorders. We provide a drug- and alcohol-free living space where residents can continue their recovery after leaving inpatient rehab.

Key features:

Substance-free environment: Residents must remain sober.

Peer support: Individuals live with others in recovery, creating a sense of community.

Accountability: House rules, curfews, drug testing, and regular meetings.

Transitional support: Helps residents gradually return to independent living while maintaining sobriety.

Structure: Encourages work, school, therapy, and participation in recovery programs (like 12 step meetings)

Recovery houses are especially helpful for people who need a stable, supportive place to live as they build long-term recovery habits.

The Caldwell House is finally feeling like home again! After months of remodeling, all the new furniture is in and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Every room has a fresh new vibe, and it’s so satisfying to see the vision come together. Can’t wait to share this space with everyone soon at our open house so be on the lookout for that information coming soon.

We are excited to announce Ryan Carver as the new Executive Director of the Caldwell House. Ryan is a person in long-term recovery who brings both personal insight and extensive professional experience to this role. His journey and dedication to helping others have made him a trusted and compassionate leader in the substance use recovery field.

Ryan began his professional career in 2016 as a Certified Peer Support Specialist with Family Preservation Services in Rutherfordton. Over the years, he has expanded his credentials and knowledge, becoming a Certified Community Health Worker and completing numerous specialized trainings, including Recovery Coach, Recovery Coach: A Harm Reduction Pathway, Forensic Peer Support, and many others.

Before joining the Caldwell House, Ryan served on the Post Overdose Response Team with Caldwell County RESTART, where he played a crucial role in supporting individuals in the aftermath of overdose events. His wealth of experience, commitment to recovery, and network of resources make him an incredible asset to our organization.

We are truly grateful to welcome Ryan to the Caldwell House and look forward to the leadership and vision he will bring as we continue to support individuals on their journey to recovery.

Caldwell House’s Nourishing Recovery Food Program offers a diverse selection of nutritious meals for residents, ensuring they receive the essential nutrients needed for their well-being. In addition to these healthy meals, residents actively engage in the cooking and planning process learning valuable life skills that they can apply not only during their stay but also as they prepare for life after they leave our facility. This holistic approach fosters both physical health and personal development. Thank you for your support.
